Metal Knights is a turn based strategy game where you take over cities, build up resources, and develop your military. You can play locally or over the Internet against other players online. Good little game with lots of varied units to keep players interested.

Free version of the game gives you unlimited play against other players. Registering the Gold version lets you play against computer opponents.

Some people may look at the fact that this game is 1D, and they may think its going to suck but it really doesnt. The game is just pure strategy, mind vs mind. You play against hundreds of other players online, either in a duel (1on1), or a Free for all with up to 10 players at a time. You collect resources and they can be converted to money in a warcraft type fashion in your cities and with that money you but, units, forts for your cities, land mines, or you pay to access upgraded stronger faster units. You also draw income from taxing your cities. Design your own maps and submit them online or choose from the many already available. Only thing I didnt like about the game is the wait time between turns, options in game range from 8hrs-72hrs between each turn, but if all players take their turn before time runs out it rolls over to the next set instantly. Its free, you can pay $16 lifetime to recieve slight in game benefits online and it is worth it. Kids & adults will enjoy.
