In this simulation, you must begin at the bottom of the pile. As you progress, you will go from a simple trader to a big businessman to possibly (if you have what it takes) the head of the Hanseatic League.

Beware though, you can't just ravage the towns (and expect the locals to help you), you must build good rapport with the locals and figure out ways to advance your standing. In order to do this you must gain esteem from both rich and poor so everyone will be eager to trade with you.

The setting for Patrician II is medieval European port towns. This game features maritime trade, production of goods, and the completion of missions as the focal point of your advancing. The better deals you make, the more you produce or the faster you complete your missions will determine how long you are a simple trader or when you become the head of the Hanseatic League.

This game will give you a realistic picture of Northern Europe in late medieval times. The player can raise his diplomacy through trading and honest work. If you are not compelled to do honest work, you can raid and seige other ships to increase your treasure through piracy.

The full version of Patrician II features:

  • The principle of a classic trading simulation in a completely new real-time design to keep you entertained for hours

  • A mix of genres including trade, economics, sea battles, and diplomacy

  • A realistic simulation of a complex world that comprises production, transport, trade, and consumption

  • Real challenges of everyday decisions of how to best gain leverage and advancement over your peers

  • A number of various game modes and objectives, ranging from small single missions to 'life-long' campaigns

It does take the tutorial a while to explain the game. But it you like Tradewinds you'll love this even more. The game is a little more expensive to buy but well worth it in the long run.

Good game overall the graphics need to improve as it looks like your playing something that is made in somewhat 1960. The feautures are really something but you have to be a quick learner to really get this game. But once you start to get the feeling for the game you will enjoy it to its fullest. If there is a patrician 3 it wil be a interesting game on how they improve it. it did not take much time to download that is why its worth playing. But the problem with this game is that you have to give sometime to really se what this game is. And mecca by the way is a holy place for muslims in saudi arabia.
