Yahoo Games is a composite of free online games (Java based) and downloadable games. Some of the games are multiplayer games (meaning you can play other people from around the world who are connected to the Internet) while other games are single player. Some games require a Yahoo ID to play while some don't.

Yahoo All-Stars is a league competition service where you can challenge other players at certain games in your league. League games include: Pool, Chess, Canasta, Euchre, Bridge, Spades, Literati, Mah Jong Solitaire, and more. The service is free for 14 days but then costs a monthly fee of $7.95 with discounts for paying for multiple months.
Yahoo Game Downloads is very similar to Download-Free-Games.com, offers many of the same downloads and categories. Game hits included here are Diamond Mine (Bejeweled), Text Twist, Bookworm, Zuma, Cubis, Bounce Out, Dynomite, Jewel Quest, Scrabble, Alchemy, and many more. No Yahoo ID or monthly fee is required for download.
Yahoo Games on Demand is a montly subscription service where you can play PC games for a certain amount of time. One service allows 3 games unlimited play each month for 1 price and another lets you play as many as you want for a higher price. Game selection is also similar to Download-Free-Games.com but uses a subscription model instead of buying each game individually. The service is good for people who play alot of games and don't mind paying monthly fees.
Bottom Line:
The Yahoo Games channel has a very nice selection of downloads, online games, leagues, and premium games to play. Some of the service prices can be expensive for more casual players but are more geared toward heavy players anyway. They also offer a smaller version for Yahoo UK game players. Yahoo's acquisition of Games Domain is a nice resource for hard core gamers and those interested in the latest news from the PC gaming world. Overall, this is a recommended site.
