Miniclip Games
Miniclip.com is a London based games site founded in 2000. The site became popular through its simple and catchy free web games and inclusion of political parodies like Dancing Bush and its various spinoffs.
Miniclip Games Site Overview:
Miniclip is primarily a directory of web games. Numbers vary around 100 and they are categorized into sports, action & adventure, puzzle, and shoot em up. Many of these games can also be downloaded for play on your PC. Recently released is a cash prize, Miniclip Tournament section where members can play for money. Although joining is free, we did notice a link to make a deposit to your account so it is unclear if real money is required.
Miniclip games most popular titles include Flashman (PacMan variant), Runescape, Bubble Trouble, Miniclip Tetris, and Hamsterball. Most of the games look like they are made by other companies that partner with Miniclip to get extra exposure from their vast audience.
Bottom Line:
Miniclip.com has alot of games, all of which are free in some way, but the quality is below average compared to other sites at the time of this review. Some of the games are catchy yet many are just plain boring. The cash prize section looks like an attempt to capture some of the market Pogo and Yahoo Games have built upon but selection is poor here. Overall if the games weren't free, there wouldn't be anything real special about this site.
