The game is a simple but complex in its own way. You control every aspect and feel like you were once there. This game is not for people who like fast games. It takes patients. Some decisions will require time to see if it pays off. But must say it was a joy playing the one hour demo. And the demo is the full game by the way.

Civilization 3 is the best strategy game out there. the turn based game play is excellent for this game. the Civilization map editor is the best that i have ever seen. the civilization editor part of the map editor really lets you make a civilization that is truly yours.

This game was just awesome, i love the games where you can controll different characters and build different structures. This game has it all from keeping your people happy to conquering lands and claiming them as your own. This game gets an A+ from me.

There is a possibility to this being the greatest PC game of all time. I am an ADDICT when it comes to PC games. I have never owned a system such as the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. I have only played computer games. I have played them all like WoW, Lord of the Rings games. Anything from RPGs to MMPORG to just downloading a game off the internet I’ve played it. And out of the thousands of games that i have played Civilization 3 Gold Edition is no doubt the best game I have ever played and i haven’t even bought it. I have just downloaded the hour version a couple times. And no lie to you my people this is the greatest game. Being able to control 1 person but it still feels like your controlling an entire army. Being able to look out on the world from the sky is one of the coolest things i have seen. The game creators had a great idea by making different kinds of people and rewards you have to get smaller things before moving onto bigger things like pyamids. Game = Great

This is the most superb RTS games of the the year if not the decade! It was graphically pleasing to the eyes and easy to start off making you civilization grow from the ground up. I loved playing it, i didn’t want to stop playing! So in general this game just just down right fun to play.

I think this is perhaps the greatest PC game ever invented! The whole general gameplay of the Civ series is incredible. NO other game for PC can combine war, strategy, political situations, and trade and commerce scenarios as well as this one. Many other games concentrate solely on one of the topics I listed above alone. Also, there are many new features on Civ 3 that make it really stand out from the rest of Sid Meiers’ wonderful series. I really like the beginning where you get to make your own world. The ONLY thing I do not like about this game is that it does take a while to load, and if you have a very SLOW computer like mine, you’d understand what I mean. Also, I think there should be more customizable freedom as far as buildings and terrain goes. For instance, customize the color of the walls of your palace or temple. Or go square by square in the beginning of the game and decide whether you want one block to be hills or mountains, but that doesn’t keep me from loving this game!

I think this game is excellent. It is greatly improved over the older Civilization games in many ways. Things I like about this game is the ability to manage an empire fairly easily, the many aspects involved in game play, the fun campaigns….the list goes on and on.  The full version of this game is excellent.  If you have a fast connection, I would advise downloading the demo and giving it a try.  But if you have a slow connection, I would not recommend downloading this game.  It would take a lot longer to download it that you would be able to play it in the trial version.  Overall, I think that this game has plenty of features (including an editor!) and is a worthwhile game to buy, but, again, if you have a slow internet connection, I do not recommend downloading it.  If you want it and you have a slow connection, get it on CD, it loads fairly quickly.

Civ3 is a great game, one to grab if you’re a fan of Sid Meier games.  It’s a great game to play, especially if you like empire or city building games.  It’s very flexible and allows you to build your empire however you want, and further, that very customizations gives it great replay value.  It’s a good game single player, with the sole exception of the AI going crazy aggressive end game.  It’s rough then, but still beatable.  LAN is solid as well, in the Monopoly sort of way.  It’s fun to start, but it hardly ever gets finished.
  While kids could play this game as well, I’d suggest the age group as mid teens and up.  It’s playable at lower ages, but it might be confusing or hard.  All in all, a great game and one that you can come back to again and again and have a new and different game every time.

It has a great level of depth, and customation giving it an immense amount of replay value plus there a lot of civilastions to choose from making it fell that each time you play the game it is unique. This game is the best. It combines the stratagy of the competators with the mind of a leader. Play with your friends online or be an opponent with the computers. If you use this on your laptop I would suggest a keyboard and mouse to move your guys and select cities. The game is one of the many I’ve seen without much blood and is rated E for everyone. If you don’t have the game then try the Demo to see how you like it.With the time I spent playing I couldn’t put it down. The graphics are amazing. The best part is the dealing and trading between civilizations are amazing, and it’s all with you behind the wheel. make one wrong move and it’s all out war between you and another. Conquer all and become the emperor of the world or at least the map. It is a must buy, and well worth the time to download or install on your computer. It is good for kids from 10 to full adults. The Starcraft games I’ve played are nothing compared to Civilization 3 Gold. The turn system makes this game what it is.

This game is definately worth the price!  The game was a little hard when I first started playing and I was defeated almost immediately in the first couple of games.  Then, after reading the instructions, (which, I highly recommend!) the game was much easier.
I love how you can get such different results depending on which "people" you choose or whether you concentrate on expansion and building cities or if you immediately build a huge army.
I would recommend this game to everyone!  Just make sure you’ve got plenty of time to play because this game is VERY addictive and it is extremely easy to lose all sense of time while playing!

This is very typical yet well done strategy game.  Its very remnant of the old Age of Empires dynasty.  If you liked AOE, Starcraft, or the old Warcraft, this game will keep you busy.  I downloaded the trial and loved it so much I bought the full version.  The games are so different every time it never gets old.  I think if you calculate out how much I played it, it would come out to have cost me about a nickel for every hour of entertainment.
