Great racer for five minutes or five hours, Dec 28, 2009

When you first open the game, it might not seem much, but GeneRally is a powerful tool to basically create your own racing game. To start playing all anyone needs to do is make a driver, pick your colours, select a car, select a track and start driving. That’s not all there is to it, however:
  In the drivers panel of GeneRally, one can create drivers for other human players sharing the keyboard, or create AI drivers of varying difficulty. They all get a choice of around 15 different cars all with pros and cons to drive around about 40 pre-made tracks.
  When you get bored of the premade tracks, there’s also a track editor included that lets you create high calibre stages in around ten minutes. It’s very simple to use, but has a great amount of potential, and once you’ve made the track, it joins an ever expanding library allowing you to select stages and laps like an actual paying racing game.
  The main problem with this game is that it’s just not quite as great as the professional racing games like Need for Speed or Gran Turismo or such. It doesn’t feel so much like an actual racing game where you advance tracks and customise cars or anything like that, but it’s just like pulling out the slot car set when you have some spare time. It’s good fun on your computer, but it’s easily underestimated if you own or have played a 3d racing game that’s not top-down.
  That put aside, however, GeneRally remains a great game experience that will have you back in your spare time.

Yep, unique is one way to describe this game.
It’s fun, and customizable. The controls may have run the risk of going wrong, but Gene Rally has pulled it off well and truly.
But what really made this game stand out is the way you can change the color of your car and then customize the other cars. Also, the ability to make your own sound set was interesting. I was curious about exactly how well this would work, but gene rally, of course, has pulled that off too.

Go ahead download this game. You’ll be glad you did. I was.

Seriously, this game is AWESOME!!  It is great for nearly all ages and for anyone who would like to play a quick game that provides much entertainment.  Very easy to learn how to play, too.

I downloaded this game thinking it won’t be all that great, but as it turns out I enjoy it a lot.  The AI is challenging, and I like a challenge.  And the tracks are pretty sweet, too.  Also, the map maker is a fun addition as well.

This game is really cool, even though the graphics aren’t that good.
  You see the whole track from the top, including the other racers. The best thing about the game is that you can play along with 1-6 friends if you have a large keyboard.
  The turns are kind of difficult to overcome, great to test players who likes racing games.

I was just randomly looking for a good racing game to download to pass the time until Grid came out on the xbox 360,then I found this.Its a great racing game for 1-6 players.Any age will probably love this game and is definitely worth the time to download(no installation).You can also download many cars and tracks from any GeneRally fan site.The only problems that I see in the game is the lack of enemy AI cars(personally i enjoy racing 12-20 cars at once)and multiple AI racing lines,no online racing,and for some reason it doesn’t have a main menu.It comes with a car and track editor/creator so you wont have to get anything for it.I definitely recommend this game.

I never heard of Generally, then I tried it and I was impressed! Not exactly THE best graphics, but you can’t judge it by that! It’s even better with some extras(cars, tracks)! Perfect 5!
