This game has amazing graphics! Although, it could be a little less laggy. The accuracy in the history is also amazing! This game is great for ages 8-16 (my opinion)~*~

I loved the idea of this game, controlling your own units in a war just seems so fun! There are alot of missions which I like to see in a game. Also, the missions actually took some effort to beat unlike some games where it is so easy that you might as well not play them.  It was cool that the game lets you play as the North aswell as the South.  The fortify option in the game just blew my mind, I mean HOW DID THEY THINK OF THAT!?!?! Also, it was cool how you got protection if you were in a tree or behind a fence, etc. and when you think about it, there is some math involved O.o

I would have liked it if there were more types of units, and what about boats? O.o It would be cool to fight in the water! :D

What a Wonderful game. This game could be played in history class, thats how historically acurate it is. The Graphics are great, you can see each guy reload, fire etc. This is really a great strategy game. I liked how your men could take cover in woods and fortify, but i would have liked that when you"fortify" your men actually build a small fort that grows over time. Currently fortification only builds a white transperant wall around you. The skirmish is also amazing, especially if you take away one sides money and give it to yourself :). The game was definitely worth the download time and money, and is a game for kids and adults alike.

It seems the gaming industries focus the WW era and while it is definitely a good subject for shoot-em-up games I think that many gaming producers forget about the civil war/revolution eras which also make good games.

Fortunately Fireaxis has created the Civil War/Gettysburg games. While they are nowa few years old they are still fun to play… they have history and also still gives an exciting strategic game-play. I love this game! I hope Sid game brings out a new one soon…

If you are a fan of the civil war era you’ll love this game…

Well it has some of the best graphics I’ve ever seen. It probably has better graphics than call of duty 4. I love the game especially the little rock map. This has the best graphics ever! Plus I like the way you can choose between a full regiment and a half-regiment. It is historically accurate in campaign mode. Best game ever!!!

It is great I love how realistic it is. The only thing I didn’t like was not being able to move cannons into position fast enough. Other than that it was perfect especially the historical accuracy, down to even the names of the commanders and exactly where they were. The price is a little high and I cannot afford it so I really need to get the free download , but it is still a great game. It is the first game I actually tried , and I really liked it but overall it was an A.

This game has such a great way of gameplay. Whats great tho is that say you like the south better than the union, You can be the union or the confederates. That allows you pick who wins. And its also perfect for history class!!lol

I love this game! I am a reenactor and am very interested in the civil war. This game honestly is one of the better games that i have played. The combination of graphics and strategy are very good. Both the skirmish and campaign modes are fun. I would suggest this game to a friend.

When you play you are in the war it is so fun the best part is you plan your move so the enemy will not see it coming. You move troops where you want to and just start fighting. You can choose your side and execute. Then they have history accurate battles and battle fields. I would say it is for 10 and up. It is so worth the time to download and it is worth the price. When you began get ready for fun!!

American civil war great game better if you could get more units because every time I play once I kill one enemy units more just come. Would be better if you got more units and if your just starting out you will find it hard so piece of advice take time to get into the game and do not waste turns by moving your men when the enemy move and you move next turn fire at them and do not move and do not just fire with one unit at the start use the most you can they will die quicker and it is worth it and god for all ages from 8 to 26 my rating was 5 out of 5 hope you enjoy it.

Dude the first time i tried it it was confusing but after i got used to the game i got the hang of it and know i am getting good in strategy games like this one it was awesome when i get to win a battle over the confederates

This game is an action packed game that shows you and lets you play the battle of Gettysburg. You can watch your battle after you have played it and see what you have done. Another thing is if you like some violence there are fights you can watch but there is no blood for those who who hate it.

American Civil War: Gettysburg is a good game yet not the best civil war game I have played. I have played about 9 civil war games and I will say this game is right in the middle. The has great graphics and has really nice detail but it is a turn based game. You and your opponent will take turns moving your armies yet you will make the turns at the same time so both sides have an equal chance. you have to tell which unit to attack which enemy unit, that can be a real pain, if you forget get to tell one unit to attack or move, they will just stand there and be shot. the campaign is a challenge at points, you are usually out numbered. free mode is to easy to beat, so if you want a challenge, free mode is not for you in the game. the game can also be played online but there is never anyone online and when there is, the severs don’t always work. if you want a game for like a car ride then its a great game to have, but if you want a real time strategy game, then this isn’t the game for you.

There really aren’t that many games that are based on the civil war that are good. But i have to say this is way up on my list. This game is very strategic and it has great graphics. I’ve played alot of computer games and i have to say this one is great. If you liked the free trial you will love the rest of the game. I know i did. For all the fun you will have playing this game it is worth the cost. But you don’t have to take my opinion download the free trial and if you like the free trial get your parents or if your old enough BUY THIS GAME!!!

this game is not only the greatest game ever but you feel the heat of war. I have not purchased this game but i know it would be worth it.
i am a computer crazy and have played many games before but nothing like this. not even age of castles!!!! anyone can play it. what really makes me wanna buy this is the skirmish mode. this game could not be better!!!!

Gettysburg is the best civil war game I’ve ever played! If you have anger issues and want to take it all out, give yourself 15,000 dollars and them 5,000 dollars so you can dominate! The graphics in this game are incredible.

I am very pleased with this game. I am really into the civil war and most civil war games are not nearly as good as this. This game taught me alot about strategy and what it was like during the civil war era. The game play is similar to games stronghold were you are the general. It gives you an excellent birds eye view on what happened at major civil war battles like Gettysburg or the bloody battle of Antietam. I would recommend this game for people from ages 10 and up. I personally think it is a great game, but i think you should get the free trial provided by download-free-games.com before buying it because not everybody likes the same thing. Although no game is perfect this game is still in my top 5. I really enjoyed the full out war experince on this game.
