I have an acer aspire one, a small netbook that is not a powerful gaming engine.  The low requirements for this game made it the only fps that actually works on my netbook.  Fast download and great online play.

AssaultCube is, quite simply, the best free FPS available.
First of all, it’s simple.  There are only four primary weapons, and only a dozen or so official (v1.0.4) maps.  There’s no ‘buying’ weapons, no ‘premium’ accounts, everyone has the same advantage and access to the same maps.  However, it can still get very complex.  Mastering every strategy and weapon takes months, and the number of high-quality maps released by the community is well over 100.  This is a game which will always have new places for you to explore and new strategies to try.

Secondly, the community in AssaultCube is great (and really the reason I keep playing).  It’s very small, with only 20 or so major clans.  This means you really can get to know pretty much everyone.  However, that being said, there are probably over one hundred servers running at any given time, with the peak number of players online reaching over 500.

Finally, AC’s game play is amazing.  It runs well on almost any machine, and almost any internet connection.  The game is fast-paced and team-orientated, with a good variety of game modes.  You’ll never get bored.
AC’s only real con: Really, really lousy bots in single player mode.  v0.93 had decent bots, now they are just terrible.

This is the best Free Download game I have played in… well, ever. This game has pretty good graphics, and a wide variety of a way to play. I have played all the version types, and i have found some pros and cons.
Pros: Exceptional multiplayer, being able to play with many other people on many maps. There are different play types such as Team Deathmatch, Deathmath, One-shot One-kill, and more. There are also a few weapons to chose from, so you aren’t stuck with any one.
Cons: The singleplayer game can get annoying, as the bots are not the smartest of all AI’s. Another thing, the lag. I do not have the best computer in the world, but I don’t have a “piece of crap.” It lags some, but I don’t think it takes much away from the game.

All in all, i find this an amazing game, and well worth the download.

If you like the game Counterstrike, this is your dream game. With a variety of levels and game types to play i’ts easily one of the best free counter strike rip-offs. Complete with an editing mode which allows players to edit everything to pick up placements, lighting effects, way points and even set a path for you bots to follow. You can either play online with players all over the world or just play by yourself with some bots. Enjoy the fragfest.
