Interesting and Chalenging Game, Jul 14, 2011
by Katherine (Kansas City, MO USA)
Overall i’d have to say it is a pretty good game. It’s fun and exciting haveing to quickly plant plants to fight the zombies.I thought that it is kinda slow at first. The zombie’s are slow and the your plants shoot them down pretty quickly. The game picks up speed and thrill at about the 6th or 7th round. There is a wide variety of zombies and some of them were pretty awsome. I liked the ones that hold the newspapers and when you get rid of their newspaper they get really angry and move faster. I also liked the ones that can catapault over and object, those were hard to get rid of. If you like zombies or plants(me) then it’s worth it to download and check it out. I’d recomend this game for ages 10 and up because of the zombies and violence. It’s still a really fun game to play, it’s not my favorite though. I like it, but for $6.99 I don’t think it’s worth it so I probably wouldn’t buy it.

Excellent-Tower Defense Like You've Never Seen, Jun 16, 2010
by Jeff (Seattle, WA USA)
Upon buying Plants Vs. Zombies, I was honestly skeptical at first. Taking my favorite tower defense genre and making a casual game out of it? My skepticism was unnecessary as PopCap games has made a gem with Plants vs. Zombies. The gameplay consists of placing plants on different rows to fend off the incoming zombie hoard, hence the name Plants Vs. Zombies. Fans of tower defense games will instantly recognize the strategic fun of placing your “towers” to stop the waves of zombies. With a total of 50 levels, and many other gameplay modes unlockable, Plants Vs. Zombies has great replay value and addictiveness. The graphics are cartoony and unique, although a little fuzzy when scaled to fullscreen. The music can get a bit repetitive at times, but you really don’t mind the catchy tunes when the game gets frantic. The sound effects are also cartoony, and it’s quite satisfying to hear a zombie groan “Brains!” as it falls to the ground.
Overview: Plants Vs. Zombies is an excellent tower defense game, and its goofy premise will bring your productivity to a demise.

About Plants Vs Zombies, Mar 20, 2010
by Cynthia Puga (USA)
When first heard of this game, I was in my trig class. And the people in there were talking about a taco you give to this crazy guy. Well, at first, i thought that it was just a pointless game. But then I started playing and it was AMAZING!
There are so many things that I liked about it, and some that I didn’t. I liked all the cute animations and that they spit seeds at the zombies. In some levels I just wanted to get up and scream at the computer because I was ecstatic. I also liked what the effects of the plants and mushrooms are. My favorite zombie would have to be the Michael Jackson zombie. But its also the most annoying.
So at first, the game has you play on levels that happen in the morning. But then it switches to night and that’s really annoying because it gives you just enough sun to plant a sunflower and if you don’t then you can’t use the plants and you can only use mushrooms. And that is when you meet crazy Steve. You have to get all this money to get powerups for either your plants or to get an extra space to use an extra plant.
All in all, I think that this game is very fun to play and it is worth the time to get it on the computer. I would also recommend it to people of all ages.

SUPER COOL!!!, Oct 21, 2009

I’ve played a lot of adventure games before, bu..t..t..This one! Is my favorite! I love it! The graphics are high quality with vivid details and characters in it! This game is fabulous, awesome, tremendous, great, COOL!!!
The zombies are invading your yards, there are one, no…! There are several!! NO…...! THEY ARE AN ARMY!!! This is how the game begins. You need to plant plants in your yards to defend against the zombies that try to get into your house. You should always plant more sunflowers to get more sunbeams to plant. At night, there will be no sunbeams coming from the sky, and there is mist. Behind the mist, there hide a tremendous plot, you will never be able to know what it is if you don’t download now! Even 60 minutes is fine, it will be the best game of your life!! This game is suitable, very suitable for any age, the fantastic features! Oh my god!
I like it, no.. I enjoyed it…no I LOVE IT!!!!

The Variety is Endless!!!, Sep 20, 2009

I have played tower defense games before, but this game rocked my socks!
Guarding your front lawn from slow moving undead is hilarious at first. Then the tough zombies and plant upgrades come in…
Strategically placing your botanical army is always a proven challenge, but watching their expressions, (especially the Wall-Nut,) is cool too. The plants and zombies show a lot of character, and losing even one plant can cause you to cry a little.
The game can be THAT involving.
So yes, I highly recommend even getting the 60 minute demo of this game…It’s the greatest 60 minutes you’ll ever experience.

Plants vs. Zombies isn’t anything you’d expect from a game consisting of zombies. They’re funny, they’re homey, they’re in your yard!
I purchased the game simply because… if a company is crazy enough to go with an idea of random plants fighting off football playing zombies… that game is MINE! To begin with the facts, this is a Tower Defense game of sorts. Interchange Towers with Plants, invaders as Zombies and the Castle as your house, only, it doesn’t get old. The environments change, the tactics change, and while the game is fairly easy for an avid gamer, the surprises keep coming! On top of the as-advertised defense game, mini-games are incorporated for hours and hours of non-stop fun.
GRAPHICS: 4.5 out of 5
Animated graphics, well blended into this cartoon world.
SOUND: 4 out of 5
Well composed, sound effects fit nicely and “voice acting” is hilarious. Repetitive music though.
GAMEPLAY: 4.5 out of 5
Replay value is astounding, and more addicting than any average platformer game.

The most entertaining tower defence game for a long time., Jul 20, 2009
by Miriam (Durham, UK)
The premise is simple; zombies are attacking your house and it’s up to the common flowers in your garden, pond and on your roof to defend your house from the undead invasion. Simply plant various flowers with different abilities and wait for the zombie hoards to arrive.
As far as tower defense games go this is one of the most entertaining as far as style and graphics go. The large variety of interesting zombies and plants that you discover ensures that the game doesn’t get boring, and the changes of location mean you have to change your tactics, keeping the game fresh rather that settling into a routine. Certain plants won’t work on the night time levels, and the curved roof means shooters can’t reach targets so you have to find another way. Far superior to old style tower defenses where the critters just come faster and in larger groups, here you have to think up a whole new strategy which stops the game from becoming repetitive to play. Even tried and tested methods will change as you unlock new plants with the coins you collect. The game stays fresh.
The graphics are bold and amusing with dancer zombies, football zombies and the elusive Yeti zombie all waiting to be encountered. Each plant is a wonderful touch and definitely leaves you smiling. Even the theme tune is catchy.
The mini games could be more varied and more interesting, but for what they are they could have done a lot worse. Some of them are even challenging the first time you try them, although some of them simply go on for too long. Each one is worth playing at least once however and they certainly don’t spoil the game. The survival levels are enjoyable once the game has been completed and manage to hold attention long after most other tower defense games have become mind numbingly dull.
In short, this game is entertaining, amusing, enjoyable to play and endearing. I’ve not yet seen someone start to play it and not still be playing it some hours later.
In the future I hope to see even more zombie types, new plants as this is certainly something I would like to hear more about.

by Julian Prince (2101 cave spring place USA)
This is a very fun, addicting game. I like it because it is a good strategy game and with 50 levels it will keep you occupied for hours. I would recommend this game for anybody who likes action games. I especially like the mushrooms because they don’t cost and sun pieces but anyway I hope you try this game and think of it the way I do.
