I was so happy to find this game online and to my pleasant surprise, this version is actually better than the original. It’s the ultimate adventure game. It’s very involved and really makes you think. I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

I played the original version of this game on the NES when I was a kid. It used to scare the bejesus out of me. I must have spent at least a half a year trying to figure it out. Maniac mansion was wayy ahead of it’s time.I was totally excited When I saw someone had made a remake of it. This game is smoother than the original with all the NES Version censored items added back in. This Game is really a classic, I would suggest it to anyone who is a true game junky. This really brings it back to the good’ol days. I challenge Everyone to Beat this game without looking up the answers online. Very Entertaining, quirky and challenging.

The commodore 64 was my first venture into the computer world.  Looking back, it seems so archaic.  When we first got this game Maniac Mansion, my kids and I spent literally HOURS playing this.  I think our first venture was probably 12 hours in one sitting.  We were hooked!  It’s sequel, Day of the Tentacle was fabulous!  little did they know that they were learning history as well!  I miss those days…  I miss those games.  Games are much more advanced now, which is fine… but I can’t seem to find games like this anymore. I wish Lucas Arts would get back into it again. I had more fun that summer..  my husband was away…  we swam in the pool during the day when it got hot we sat in front of the pc for hours on end and even into the evening.  Oh how I miss those days… and those games… Can’t someone please bring them back? I am not into all the violent gaming there is now.  Lucas Arts made our days full of happiness!
I didn’t realize that this was for a contest.. I just wanted to add my two cents.  Zak McCraken was another hit with my family.  What a fun way to teach your kids!

An Oldie but Goodie, May 11, 2010

I started playing MMD when I was in elementary school. The school had a (I think) a Commadore (sp?) and a dot matrix printer. The school also had Carmen Santiago.. MMD is a party game.. what I mean is that the more people playing, the more fun it is. Like I remember that Syd could play the piano and Bernard was afraid of the tentacles..

I have good memories… I wanted to play this from school start to last bell.

This game is really good after all. If you like adventure RPGs like king quest, you should try this. Beside its story is interesting, we also are able to choose two other characters to accompany the main character. In the other words, you can do different actions at the same time by cycling through the characters. Use this advantage wisely. Remember that picking items, examining, or every other movement you do in a certain situation, time, and place can affect the game story. Other things that makes this game great are the funny cut scenes and its good soundtrack. Thus, I recommend you to make this game one of your collection (because it’s free!).

The graphic design is nicely designed. It is exciting, challenging, and offers so much fun that it keeps me coming back for more. Thank you for the wonderful effort that was put into this game, I hope to see more in the future.
