Awesome game! It is very similar to a series like heroes or disciples with a great map editor and a lot of replay value. The only con is that it is a bit too hard.

AWESOME !!!!!!, Nov 05, 2009
by Mark Broderick (London,Ont,Canada)
I can’t believe this is freeware!! I can’t stop playing it! I have an old computer with little ram and garbage graphics but the game graphics still out do other ” free games “. The story lines go way beyond most other games with great detail..
The battle scenes are the best part…it takes logistics and skill to win each individual battle..Each fighter has unique abilities to defeat different enemies on different terrain…( what a brain squeeze ! ). If you want a game that challenges your strategic mind and you like RPG type games, then this is it ! The first levels are easy for training but then ????
ENJOY…...

Simple to learn, yet complex to master, Sep 07, 2008
by Vikorus (Mesa, AZ)
This turn-based strategy game is one of my all-time favorites. Instead of focusing on fancy graphics, the creators opted for a focus instead on complex gameplay. Most of your playing time will consist of battling through well-written campaigns, most of which are 5-20 scenarios long. The basic idea is simple; there’s a clear goal of each scenario. In practice, it can get a little more complex, since you must balance time of day, terrain, strengths, abilities, areas of control, experience, healing, gold, and a large scale of other factors to win (don’t worry; it’s pretty intuitive to learn). There are 6 main factions (men, elves, dwarves, drakes, orcs, and undead), none of which have an inherent advantage against the others, and the campaigns mix these factions for even more variety. If you finish all the official campaigns, you can play against other players online or download one of the myriad of community-developed campaigns and factions, giving the game endless variety and interest.

The Tactical Version of Dungeons & Dragons, Jul 26, 2008
by Shuwesh (Knoxville TN, USA)
This game structure could easily be used as a tactical adjunct to D&D. The character types and plots involved are very D&D-like. All we need now are ways to advance characters beyond level 3, and we’ll have something very D&D-like.
Each individual unit has a unique name, appropriate to its character type and race.
Because of this feature one tends to become emotionally attached and sympathetic to individual units, especially main characters.
The variety of units is pleasing, but it strikes one that there is over-much use of only a few "villain" races, such as "undead" and orc
units. While other villain types appear in the course of events, such creatures tend to be weak and rare.
Due to the unlimited expandability of the game, such concerns can be easily remedied by writing a bit of code. Since the game is open-sourced, anyone can write code to modify and improve the game to their liking.
Altogether a very pleasing tactical experience. The A.I. is superior to most other games.

Surprisingly Fantastic Game, Jun 26, 2008
by Chris (Singapore)
Compared to Heroes of Might & Magic, this game would seem simple (no resources needed, just gold, no spell casting, etc), but as you play, you will learn how deep this strategy and challenging the game is.
Best of all, it’s an open source, which means other players create new campaigns for you to play. And there is also an online match that you can play with other players.
It’s worth $50 or more, but it’s available free.

A game you should keep your eye on, Feb 19, 2008
by Blizzard Bear (Lyon, France)
This game is a bit like Heroes of M&M. However you can only level up your units by experience. The base serves only to buy units or recall units from previous scenarios. This game is always underdevelopment and it becoming a wold wide success. They new features of this game make it worth your time. And if you don’t like the scenarios offered, just download an other one :)
Go ahead… Play it now !

A good simple strategy/RPG game, Feb 16, 2008
by Yonatan (Modiin, Israel)
A turn based strategy game, with virtually endless campaigns. You carry your characters and heroes through levels and mounting skills that allow you to advance and complete missions (usually destroying enemies).
A very intuitive interface, a very fast loading game and some interesting plots to play through.
In this game you not only have to consider who to kill first amongst your enemies - you should also consider where and who would do it, since different units have different skills in various terrains and you would like some to get the experience for the kill… as simple as it first looks, this game combines many details that make it sophisticated and fun to play.
