43211 computer decides when to end the game, Jun 03, 2008

by Rick D. (Richmond Va)

I have an issue with the computer deciding when to end the game.  On several occasions I have been playing the computer and it has ended the game when I still have letters that can play.  The rules of the game state that the game ends when there are no plays left by either player.  I also have an issue with the word list in the dictionary.  Some of the words that the computer uses are so off the wall that I have to look them up to see if they are actually words that have definitions.  Some of the words describe foreign items which I don’t think should be valid.  Overall I like the game but I really have an issue with the computer ending the games prematurely.

54321 Scrabble is Your Helper, May 27, 2008

by James Flakes (Atlanta, GA USA)

I grew up playing Scrabble. My mother started me playing the game with her. I found it intriguing, educational, and challenging. It was fun as well. It helps to improve my vocabulary development.

It is worth the time to download and install the full version of Scrabble. If I have it on the PC, I will be able to enjoy the game and learn new words that I have never seen before.

The game is not only for children, but it is for teenagers and adults as well. It allows kids and adults alike to learn new words.

I have played Upwords and Boggle. I enjoyed these games. They have helped me discover words quickly.

Without Scrabble, it would probably be harder to learn new words and play other games without learning something educational.

43211 Great, but who makes up the words?, Apr 28, 2008

by Terri Gabriell (New Jersey, USA)

I love this game and enjoy playing it on the computer, but I have many problems with the dictionary and the abominations it includes as words. ZA may be an abbreviation for pizza somewhere, but no one I know has ever heard or used it, yet it is included as a word. The same with wiz, used for whiz, and wizes, used as the plural of wiz.  As much as I love the game, I think with the dictionary accepting bogus words like these, it is ultimately an assault on the English language.  Which brings up the use of foreign words.  I’d like to know who creates the scrabble dictionary and why the game doesn’t just use a standard dictionary so that these bogus words, which appear in no other dictionary on earth, don’t ruin the game.

Wow! I’ve been playing Scrabble for over 30 years. I own multiple boards, the first computer edition, multiple dictionaries and tons of miscellaneous scrabble collectibles. Among family and friends I am famous for my love of scrabble. It used to be hard to find people to play against, but now I can hone my skills in secret. Imagine! This version of Scrabble is the absolute best ever, hands down, no contest. No other game I have found has the immediate dictionary; far superior to the hint button, but it’s also there. This game has everything the rest have, (except "Maven") and more superior options to boot. Personally I’m thrilled to be rid of Maven The Quick. Scrabble nuts will appreciate the benefit of being able to click the dictionary in the middle of play and type Qa in the line only to have all the qa words appear. No flipping pages. It’s wonderful. I’m not as wild about the artistic presentation, but who cares, the game itself is what counts and it’s just remarkable. Indisputable

The Scrabble interaction between players was great.  I was really surprised by some of the words my opponent placed on the board.  I am adding to my vocabulary more words each new game.  The challenge has been to use some of those same words in future games.  More often than not I have been able to use all my letters which is amazing.  Thanks for such a real experience.  I am ready to play my family on game night with some âattitude.â  They think I am so smart.  Scrabble on line has made a tremendous training exercise as well as a competitive resource for me.

54321 A GRAND SLAM!, Jan 24, 2008

by Edie Hudson (Colorado, USA)

I’ve been playing Scrabble since I was a kid… and I just turned 64. However, this is my first experience playing Scrabble on the computer. It’s fast paced, it’s fun, and it definitely stimulates my brain (this is NOT a mindless computer game). I would even classify it as ADDICTIVE. Being a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor, I believe that it actually "exercises" my brain cells and increases my opportunity for recovery. I also play with a Scrabble Dictionary and Thesarus at hand in an effort to further augment those injured neurons. THANK YOU!

54321 THE PERFECT GAME, Dec 21, 2007

by Betty opj (Nigeria)

This game is the perfect game I admitted to be, it wisen ones brain and gives solution to daily difficulties if one could make use of it in the real world. Then, I will plead u extend to 120mins for adequate satisfaction of those that could not afford it.It’s the best go for it.

54321 Addiction, Oct 28, 2007

by Ali Saeed Asghar (Pakistan)

There is no addiction more than Scrabble. The graphics are so very attractive that one is swept away in words and trying to beat the computer. I feel it as my girl friend without whom I cease to exist. I think trial version should be longer than 60 minutes. Sometimes, people can’t afford it.

54321 Fantastic!, Oct 25, 2007

by Bernie (Manchester, United Kingdom)

What a fantastic game, I downloaded the free trial expecting to get an hours worth of game and thinking "I’ve never played Scrabble before and by the time I figure it out, the trial time will be up"... 4 hours later, I had to pull myself away from the game!  Completely addictive and made me determined to beat the computer!  The graphics were great, especially the dictionary, I have learnt so many new words today that I didn’t know existed!  I played with the computer today, but I could see it being a valuable educational game to play with children also.  There was nothing I didn’t like about this game other than the fact that the housework did not get done today!
