Best Monopoly Video Game Available!!!, Jul 08, 2008
by Pat (Dallas, TX)
I have played quite a few Monopoly video games, but they are always lacking. This one however is extremely fun to play, and reproduces the experience of playing "real" Monopoly quite well.
The graphics are very good. The tokens are animated and talk. And there is play-by-play throughout the game too. There are also settings to disable this if you don’t like it.
You can also play standard Monopoly rules or choose many modified rules that many people like to play (like the Free Parking rule).
You can also choose the standard Monopoly board or other city boards to play.
You can play against multiple computer opponents or you can play online against live opponents.
There is one significant bug however. The AI trading mechanism constantly interrupts what you are doing. Even if I am in the middle of a trade, the AI will interrupt me and do a trade of his own. Sometimes frustrating.
Even with that, it was well worth purchasing. I’m glad I bought it. I think you will be too.

What a wonderful game!, Jul 04, 2008

This is terrific! With this version of Monopoly I no longer have to wait for someone else to play with me. There are only two criticisms I have; first it is hard to read the property cards and second the movement of the board makes me feel dizzy at times. I have always loved this game since childhood. Now I can play anytime.

Very realistic, exciting and challenging,it is really addictive and requires time and attention. I never believed that this game can be real as if you are in your living room playing with friend and family. You learn money management, real estate buying along with all the other skill needed to function in the real world. I love this game and would continue playing it. I also encourage my friend to play so that they would get a sense of real world issues in buying and selling. I didn’t believe that playing against a computer would be so much fun, but it is since you can play anytime and anywhere, for instance when you travel you can carry your readily companion along with no additional cost.

the last time I played Monopoly was as a child on a board with wooden houses/hotels, and metal playing pieces, against older siblings who always won. What a delight to play a fast, exciting, animated game against the computer, with swift decisions, and no cheating by the banker slipping a few extra notes into his pile! Just as colorful, and as much fun as I remember the game to be. Great! But the US game is a bit strange to me as a Brit, expecting Trafalgar Square and Park Lane, so I had to keep looking to see how upmarket places were. Still, loved it anyway!

this game is the best you’ll ever play. its so much fun with property trading and all. if u start then u just cant stop playing it. i love this game. this game is a great one and i garrentee anyone who plays it will enjoy it. it has cool stuff like trading things buying properties and cool stuff. but it is also nicely and smartly made. if u want a game to pass the time its the best u can get. in it you basically have to be the richest man and avoid getting bankrupt. you have to buy properties to collect rent, be a little lucky and also give rent etc. you buy three things of the same color and u can build hotels etc. to collect jumbo rent. but be careful or u mioght have to pay much more than that. trade with other people and gain what you want. play smartly or you’ll be gone. learn how 2 do business and you will hve gr8 fun. you also get into jail and u can hve loads of fun trying to beat your family or friends or if there isnt any1 around, the computer. its worth buying and downloading.

This is a Modern update to the classic game. Monopoly on the PC makes it more easy for kids to play without worrying about handling the money or the property cards. This is a great alternative to buying the board game. My whole family liked it and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Awesome game!, May 10, 2008

This game has great graphics(at least not horrible), okay sound, but magnificent gameplay. This game is perfect to play when you’re bored, and best of all, you can play by yourself! No more asking your neighbors for a match. It was really fun. It is almost as good as the real thing, mostly because you can’t have all the house rules you might be used to.

I love it!!, May 10, 2008

Its a very good game- I like the 3D Features and different board game cards and properties- It was very fun and worth teh 30 minute download- I would buy full versions but I dont have any money yet- Its better than the other monopoly but I still like the classic ones as much as this- I loved playing it, and I was concentrated on the game- I couldn’t even focus on the tv, on, while playing the game- It was so fun, and the only things it needs is more trial time!! Also, some more features there could be like a selection of types- like game 1 with these combinations of properties, etc. or Type 2, etc. Furthermore, I love this game and there are much more good parts while the bad parts is that some effects take longer like going to jail, which can hurt the trial time you have.

A total success in bringing the famous board game to life. The best part being able to play alone with bots. Brings back the nostalgia. 5 stars.

Beats the Original Online Version of Monopoly, Apr 27, 2008
by Karen Koldyk (Lethridge, Alberta - Canada)
I played the original online version of monopoly which hooked up players back in 1995 through a place called westwood studios. Crashes were frequent, but the game was pretty much true to form. This however is a MUCH better version - the game doesn’t crash, the options are far better, graphics are amazing and of course just the networking is 300 times better. We ended up using westwood studios more as a chatroom than anything else! I have westwood studios for putting out the original and letting me meet my husband and moving me to the USA but I thank whoever wrote this version for bringing me back to the game and making me keep playing without headaches! I can’t wait to see others!
