Its a cool game and its fun to raise your civilization. however it takes quite some time to build other than that its an awesome game, and i would love to have it. Playing the game is really fun and exciting. Its one of my top games i have ever played. thanks for reading this review.

I think this is a good game, but it is not really a war game. It is more about controlling the number of merchants, clerks, builders, and swordsmen to control how your kingdom will improve in different aspex. By the way it IS a good game, with good graffix, and well designed. It keeps me by the computer.

First of all, it is a pretty good game. The way the strategy is made out is pretty good. But there is also a slight bore to it. Like, it takes a very long time to finish making each part of the castle. It feels very fun at the beginning, but later on, it got boring. I say I would like the game, it could have some improvments. It worth is wait for it. The full version could be cheaper. In my opinion, it would be good for people aged 12-20. This game is not as strategetic as Dune 2000 or Starcraft. I would rate this the 6th best game I have ever played. I would give it a 4/5. Thank you for your time reading this review.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME, May 07, 2007

This games enticed me straight from the title. I have only played the trial version. Having only one hour to play left me eagerly awaiting more. It not only pulls your desire to construct large populations to repel enemies, and conquer new lands. But it requires you to really, plan out what you need to do. The easy difficulty is easy, but trying it on a harder difficulty, OH MY GOD AWESOME!!!!!!!

Age Of Castles, An Iron Age Release, Apr 17, 2007
by kössi kenguru (Helsinki Finland)
When you think of the first two words of this game, most people think of some of maybe the best games of there time, but this is maybe one of the worst games out now. This was possibly one of the dullest games i have played in a while. This game rates about on par with minesweeper for action and brain power necessary, along with the strategy involved. If you are looking for a strategy game to introduce your young children to this might be a starting point but for anyone who has ever passed a game of solitaire my recommendation would be to steer clear. Age of Castles is possible a game which was introduced during the Iron age and is now being re-released.
But i must give my thanks to the guys behind this site for giving me the option of trying before buying, cos i think the cash could be better spent on a third deck of cards.

A Reasonably Good Game, 3 out of 5, Apr 15, 2007

If you’re addicted to medieval building games or don’t feel like spending twice its cost for a big budget title, Age of Castles is pleasant enough with basically repetitive gameplay that makes for a nice pause in your day.
Pros: Easy interface and reasonably simple gameplay that follows in the footsteps of successful big budget titles. The graphics are not remotely high end but pretty good. Addition of devilish, hellish enemies, whicj makes this game more distinctive from AOE.
Cons: It’s nice but not a game you’re likely to get too wrapped up in and will get bored of before too long. This game is essentially a clone of the successful AOE series, so you might get a little disappointed and critical. And, yes, it’s way TOO simple, you could finish it in a half an hour or so.
Overall, this is a decent and relatively cheap (15 bucks) game to play for at least 5 hours. Don’t expect a lot and you won’t be disappointed.

Great fun !, Apr 14, 2007

I started playing this game a couple of weeks ago, and I really like it, I love medevil settings and castles. It’s easy to play. I like RPG type games, that don’t have a thick, long storylines that can get tedious. This game is quick, to the point, and my teenagers like it . The violence is to a minimal if any for that matter, you do battles with goblins, giant bats, but it’s based on points and gold that can be collected if you defeat the enemy, for the kids it can help to teach them leadership and managing their gold, the kingdom, castle etc.. I plan on buying it for the family. Great game.
