This is my favorite game.  Some changes could be made such as adding more dynasties. The rest of the game is excellent.

43211 AGE OF CHANGE, Feb 17, 2010

by DANIEL CLOTTEY (ACCRA-GHANA)

Age of change is about using war and strategy ideas to change a race from colonial rule to civilian rule.  In the game, an army of civilians have to fight a colonial race for change.  Great game!

54321 Fun!!!! A MUST BUY!, Aug 14, 2009

by pokefan68 (Birmingham,AL)

In the hour that I played this game I had a fun game experience I had never had with any other strategy games whether it’s freeciv, sid’s civilization games, etc. but this game has the best graphics, the most amount of game options, and has the map customization as civ 1 just more customization. All that I’m saying is BUY THIS GAME! FORGET THE FREE TRIAL AND JUST BUY IT!!!

Ive been playing pc games for years now. through buying at pawn shops, going to garage sales, and borrowing from friends.
in all of those years, Civ 2. has been my favorite.
just knowing that you can build your own world, and practically change history, makes it my favorite game.
i haven’t been able to play it in a while. my disc got scratched. so ive been looking for a download. and i think i finally have one.

43211 Civilization ii: Test of Time, Aug 29, 2007

by Sunny (Surrey,BC Canada)

Civilization is the best series of games ever. Once i downloaded this games demo i could not get off the computer looking for more demos of it. Some might look at the games price saying is it worth it, you can believe me even if it was more than 100 dollars it would be worth it. This game has great detail and requires lots of strategic thinking i also like the fact there is no blood and gore so this game is also good for little kids but it might be too hard for too young so 10 and up might really like this game but it puzzles me how can germans and america fight rome. and when going into the future age the warriors look the same should there not better detail to that but overall this is the greatest strategy game of all time.

54321 Victory, Aug 19, 2007

I grew up with video games. Through Middle school we’d play Golden Eye on N64, Age of Empires on computer, etc. In High school, the AOE series advanced, more 1st person shooters came out. Now in College, I play my roommate’s wii. In all of my experience with gaming, I’d still say that Civ 2 has the most staying power of any game I’ve played. It doesn’t have the graphics, doesn’t need them. Civ 2 has some of the most incredible and addictive game play. I used to love building railroads and farms everywhere, being the first to have guns (and taking full advantage), and being a nuclear madman. The Gold edition only adds more great features. If you ever get bored, you can make your own scenarios, where you may change the very appearance of the terrain, your units, cities, everything. Buy this game, it is worth it.

43211 Civilization II: Turn-based Classic, Jul 19, 2007

by FLORENCIO C. CONEJARES JR. (Manila, Philippines)

I have been enjoying Civ II for the past 10 years.  I have been playing
all kinds of strategy games, both real-time and turn-
based,  and it is the only one I keep coming back to.

Warcraft II is good.  But it can never give you the economy challenge
that Civ II presents.  Many times I would simply create an economic
powerhouse out of my cities, so that when conflict comes, I would
have all the technology and resources I need to make awesome war.

Panzer General II is also good.  But you will never find the factors of
diplomacy, government, or espionage ever coming into play the way
it does in Civ II.  I gained many victories against enemy alliances by
deploying dozens of veteran spies against them, both in peace-time
and war-time.

Now if you combine Civ II with Civ II- Scenarios?  Wow!  With wise
management, you can even get the Japanese Imperial Army to
overwhelm the combined forces of the U.S.A., Russia, and
Great Britain!

Get Civilization II: A time-tested classic!

54321 the best, Jul 18, 2007

by mc maxi (united kingdom)

this game is one of the best games ive played in my life! Make an army destroy your neighboring countries and take over cities!! be part of the government. discover many secrets and be an ally with those secrets and it would be easier to destroy the enemy. It doesn’t always have to be real life visit the under world and be the elves, goblins beutos and more. To play like this just go to the fantasy game on the menu screen. even do science fiction games and scenarios. Trust me you will LOVE this game just as much as i love it. i hope this has convinced you to order this game!!!

43211 civilization 2- test of time, Jun 26, 2007

by Yeng Yang (Grand Rapids,MI USA)

The graphics could be better, looks like an upgrade from block figures.
I give a 5 for graphics

The music sucks. I thought there was some kind of popup. Hip hop club music and civilization doesnt mix well.
I give a .5 for sound

The game plays like you would expect, nothing new compared to the earlier civilization. I did like the options of playing fantasy or realtime.
I give a 7 for playability

Overall, if the bad club music didnt ruin the game then I would enjoy playing Test of time. If you can boop your head to the music and play a good old strategy then by all means try this game. If your a true Civilization game addict then Im sure we have alot of shit talking about this game to share.

43211 Civilization 2, Jun 23, 2007

by ? (Tigard, OR USA)

It’s an awesome game. Although the graphics weren’t too great the gameplay was excellent. It makes you think critically and feel free to do want you want. Like you can either be a military leader, a tyrant, a diplomatic leader, or a peaceful leader. You can make people hate you. It in other words is a free to do game. There are no missions or anything. It makes you feel like you have lots of power and you always feel proud when you are very wealthy or have great armies. You can span from the ancient age to the high tech age. Why in the future they’ll probably be making civilization 30 by 2400 A.D.

54321 Really Great, Jun 03, 2007

I loved the game. Even though it is an older version, it is still really fun, and i will definitely recommend it to all of my friends

54321 best game ever, Apr 08, 2007

by Amanda (North Carolina, USA)

This is my favorite game of all time. I was introduced to this game when I was not even in my double digits by an Egyptologist/Archaeologist.

I have moved around a lot and parts of me have been left behind. This game ties my life together. I also love the parts of the world that I cannot partake in: like the ancient world or the high tech world.

I like to play this game to work out aggression and to use strategy and intellect to achieve any goal I want. It is so cool to be able to enjoy a real life scenario game that is not gross and disgusting to play, but instead it is highly intellectual to play it.

This is the most amazing game ever created. Thank you so much for all the fun I have had for at least 15 years. I have never gotten tired of it, and I have never outgrown it!

54321 Amazing, Apr 01, 2007

by Bryan (Ionia, MI USA)

I love this game, it is very addictive. It was obviously put together very well. The thing I liked the most was how there were a bunch of different time periods you could play in. The multiplayer, even just hot seat, is very fun to play with a few friends. I would recommend this game to ANYONE, its one of the best I’ve played.

43211 Robin Hood, Mar 17, 2007

by Ben (Milford, OH USA)

This game is very addictive, the onley draw back i thought would have to be the graphics they arnt the greatest. This game would be good enough for most ages but some really young kids might have some difficulties working the controls. This game is just as fun as age of empires and others. this game is obviously worth the money the download time isnt very much at all.

This game is seriously lacking in the graphics department, but the games playability and use of strategic thinking is astounding for such an old game. it’s quite addicting and time consuming
