Uplink is the best pc game i have ever played. It makes you feel as though your actually hacking. The game’s features are great and you can play for hours

43211 Uplink Hacker game good clean fun, Oct 21, 2007

by Troy (Johannesburg, South Africa)

I’m a bit of a squeeky-clean guy who has never delved into the hacking underworld for real. I wouldn’t know how realistic this game is, although i would imagine its a lot tougher, but I did find this game a heck of a lot of fun!

Uplink Hacker Elite may not be the real thing, but it is exactly what i would want the real thing to be! The interface is simple and easy to use, the tutorial is thorough without being annoying and the missions are progressively more challenging.

This game is definitely a great taste of the Hollywood hacker romantic and is a classic in the making. Would love to see better graphics and technology being included in future versions, but the current simplicity doesnt detract from the fun-factor.

Would say this game is suitable for any age and is so original that it stands alone in its class. Cant wait to play the next version!

Uplink is the ultimate hacking video game. You start off as a new agent for the Uplink group and have the choice of running a tutorial to get you aquainted with the basics of the game. After you have learnt the basics an extrememly wide variety of missions beginning with the easier sabotage and stealing of files of one company for another, to the more difficult as you complete these, changing academic records and social security status of people targeted by your employers, and finally to the much more difficult of robbing banks and destroying whole systems. You also are given the chance to take part in the creation of the most destructive computer virus ever constructed. This game is highly addictive and gives you an enormous adrenaline rush from the tension created by the fact that you are always being traced while you work and that every second counts. In the end you can do anything from petty theft to manipulation of the stock market. It is a true masterpiece in gaming.

This game is the game to get for a hacking game. the first part of the game goes by slowly, but does very well in getting you acquainted with the gadgets, upgrades, and controls of the game. There may not be a big variety of missions, but the game itself is an addicting one. the game makes up for lack of variety by implementing upgrades for your "gateway",(similar to a server or computer), also being able to purchase better and newer versions of gadgets to help you immensely along the way. Another little detail I’ve noticed is if,(as you will find yourself doing in some missions), when you have deleted a file or altered a file, if you don’t change the log, you will have to break the password again upon re-entry, instead of just using the password you used last time. And no, you DO NOT have to be a computer genius to play this game - anyone who can use a computer will enjoy this game. you will instantly find yourself addicted and playing for hours on end. Is definitely worth the money.

This game is very good quality, what with the graphics, but the game play is not all that great. The player interface is cluttered, and the actual game play is so simple that the game quickly becomes boring. That is, until some of the harder missions. Earning the money the buy upgrades becomes exciting as you will need them as the game progresses, and even with them the game play is intense. This game is well worth the money, if you have the time the fight your way through the introductory stages.
