Not that great..., Jun 14, 2008
by Chad (Michigan,, USA)
~*~First Off~*~
This game has a good idea, but… it could have been better. Graphics weren’t all that great eaither.
~*~I Like~*~
The whole controlling your own army and castle just says "Great Game". I like the fact that you have to gather resources and money to make units and buildings, also that you have a little village that gives you money :) The battle parts of the game are cool (with armies, not in the caves). The options to defend or flank or attack were pretty cool.
~*~Dislike~*~
I didn’t like the game play… It was that interesting and got boring real fast. It also took a while to beat one mission and going into the dungeons took so long, and I just started ignoring them after a while. It would have been cool to actually see your men fight in battles…
~*~Conclusion~*~
It is a good idea, but has room for alot of improvement…

Pretty darn good game., May 05, 2008

While kind of old in execution, it’s highly addictive. Reminds me of some of the old commodore 64 games that I was unable to stop playing. Battle is simple and straightforward, gold, items, and resources are in generous supply, the map is easy to navigate with no "hiddden" ambushes. It’s just a fun and easy game to play. (And play, and play,...) I ordered the full version as soon as my time was up with the trial. Plenty of places to sell stuff, interesting (and very busy!) dungeons, and lots of stuff to build so you have something to do will all them resources you pick up. Plenty of different troop types to experiment with, and enough different tactics for battles so you don’t have to run straight up and bash. This one is gonna keep me busy for months, I can tell already. This is easy enough for kids, and at 48 years old, fun for this adult. I love it since reminds me of the games I played back in the 80’s. And loads a sight quicker than they did back then! Good game! Worth it.

satisfying...yet not, Feb 29, 2008

this game starts you off on the wrong foot… from the start of the game the enemy has the advantage… so needless to say you are stuck on the defensive side of the battle… while you try to build an army you must also try to defend the enemy from the very start… though when you finally defeat the enemy it is very satisfying… i would recommend this game to someone who likes a challenge.

Great Game, Feb 13, 2008
by Gabriel Kilpatrick (New York, NY, USA)
This game is very good because they set it up perfectly. Even though you can’t move your character and press buttons for him to do a special attack it is fun. Usually in RPGs it is not still. the surroundings and camera are moving. For example, Runescape is not a still game. You travel and see different things and places. But the creators of Empires and Dungeons made up for the stillness by using a map. I think it was a great idea. I like the idea of the different style of attacking. I also thought that the heroic actions was genious idea. Also I like how you command your army. I thought it was necessary for the creators to have an option of controlling your army but the idea of the batallions and the option of defending or flanking for each unit was superb. I also like how you can change the name of the lord and kingdom. I can create my own dynasty with me as a hero. I also like how you can collect resources to build for your heroes.

A good game, but can get annoying!, Nov 13, 2007

A prefer a game that is challenging, yet relaxing. Although I liked this game, I did not like the fact that the enemy seemed to have the upper hand from the get go. This puts you on the defensive and if you are a serious gamer, can lead to higher levels of stress while you are trying to build up your defenses, your opponent will sneak to your castle, and when you go to defend it, he teleports back to safety. So, needless to say, finally taking him out is a very satisfying reward. I whole heartedly recommend this game.

Empires & Dungeons, Nov 07, 2007
by Tristan (Paris,France)
The Good: Very interesting gameplay, solid storyline which will keep you entertained for a good amount of time.
The Bad: Sometimes its repetitive to move around the map, and some players simply cannot win certain scenarios.
Empires and Dungeons looks a little boring from first glance, but once you start playing it turns out very enjoyable. Based on King Arthur’s adventures it has a good storyline, which will keep you interested. The build and hire options are pretty neat, but having a catapault really is not so fantastic.
The main thing that I experienced playing E&D was that sometimes it is really hard to pass some areas, even on very easy setting. Key elements are for example building stables to early, or hiring expensive units that really do not help much. Archers are better than soldiers, yes, but sometimes it’s just more beneficial to buy 2 soldier brigades instead of 1 archer brigade.
Overall, if you like this game, then buy it, though sometimes it can be negative.

Good story, good gameplay, Aug 06, 2007
by Rowe (Vic, Aus)
This game turned out better than what i thought. The storyline is simple, yet elegant and the gameplay follows the same lines. It is in fact deceptively simple. If thinking that you can coast through this game, you would be wrong. The style of the game follows a more Heroes of Might and Magic meets Baldurs Gate in that the main screen is turn based while the battles remain in realtime, making the need for quick decisions an essential. Graphics were alright and the concept was brilliant. All round i would rate it a 4.5 out of 5

This is a pretty good game, Jun 24, 2007

Well, this game was better than i thought it was going to be.The story line, great and graphics are alright too. I like how you can just move about your little area and clloect as much stuff as you desire and go into as many dungeons as you want.My favorite part was the dungeons because you get to level up your character and get new items, I also like the boss monster idea for every cave. Now the only thing i didnt like about this game was the limitation of how many items you can have and the small area that you can roam around, i think you need more spave to explore.I would recomend this game to mainly kids because its not quite as complex as adults like most of the time.Overall this game is really cool and addicting.HAVE FUN!!
P.S. i wouldnt buy anything from the crazy old wizards because they usually only have usless junk or stuff you already have or have better of.
