If you like task management, Sudoku, real time strategy, role play games, match three, or hidden object games, Escape from Paradise 2 has them all. With almost every game genre included in this island themed game everyone will enjoy it. Building an island tribe from the ground up to take control of the island is just the beginning in this great game.
Build Up Your Island Economy
The story takes place after the last game when you decide to stay on the island, but the king banishes you from the tribe. Princess Perusah , the daughter of the king, sides with you and comes with you to the island. There you will meet your companion Taz, the curious monkey who will play all the puzzle games that will need to be accomplished. You will have to build huts to recruit more villagers, and level up your skills along with the skills of all the villagers so you can gather and build faster. As you progress through the game you will be given quests that will help you on your way with new tools and abilities.
Easy Controls
You are in control of all the villagers including yourself and Princess Persuah. Controlling everything is done with the mouse. Every person you control has four meters that go down over time: sleep, hunger, thirst and social. The villagers will eventually fulfill these needs on their own, but will move and work slowly for some time until you tell them to eat, drink, chat or sleep. To move forward quickly you will have to keep up on these needs.
Fun and Varied Mini-Games
The other option is to play minigames with Taz. Time continues to pass while you are playing the minigames so if you just want to minimize the amount of work you have to do while also completing the necessary mini games, that would be a great way to do it. You will have to play minigames like match three (think Bejeweled), Sudoku, hidden object and more. Completing the minigames earns you several types of rewards. Skill points allow you to level up one of three skills: chopping wood, gathering food or carpentry. Upgrading your skills in these areas allows you to complete tasks faster. You can also earn rewards that help you progress in the game like tools or skills.
Fitting Graphics and Sound
The graphics are similar to most people simulation games. All the backdrops and games work well with the island theme of the game. The story is presented in great cut scenes along with awesome sound. All the construction noises, drinking, eating and just about everything else makes appropriate noise. The sound and graphics contribute nicely to this game and help make it an awesome island experience.
Some Puzzles Tough For Younger Players
While the game appears to be geared for kids (adults will enjoy it just as much) some of the games might be too hard for younger players. There is a Sudoku game in particular that could be very challenging for younger players. This would not be a problem but you have to complete the minigames to finish the game. It could be very frustrating if you can't complete a minigame and it is holding you back from continuing in the game.
Conclusion - An Excellent Variety of Games Add Up to a Winner
With so many genres covered in Escape From Paradise 2, it would be hard to not find something you can enjoy. With so many hidden objects, games and villagers to take care of you will be busy for as many hours as you care to play. Difficult minigames can be frustrating but if you keep at eventually you will get it. With the easy controls and family friendly theme, everyone can enjoy this great game. Try it today and you will be hooked the second you start playing.
