The third installment in the Dream Chronicles series builds on the magical world established in the first two releases. In this game, Faye has had her memory erased in some scheme by the Fairy Queen and no longer remembers her husband, daughter, or even her own identity. Help her rediscover who she is and save her family from an evil fairy queen.
The most noteworthy feature of DC3 is certainly the high quality graphics with vivid colors that portray a fantasy world in the most realistic manner possible. Animation is remarkably lifelike and fits perfectly into every seen, including spontaneous true to life fire and wandering birds. Actions performed maintain the same degree of realism, such as assembling a sewing machine, threading it, then pushing the foot pedal to sew. Unfortunately, some items appear disproportionately large or small which lessens the realistic effect of the graphics.
Should you become stuck, there is no user activated hint system and you must wait for an infrequent orb of light to shine in order to find an item or action needed. This can become particularly frustrating when you are required to return to another location to progress onward with no indication that such movement is required. However, most puzzles and ordinary challenges are creative and stimulate thoughtful action which produces a rewarding experience.
The Chosen Child is appealing due to its high quality aesthetics as well as its creative and enticing challenges and overall its appeal is not dampened by the few setbacks.
