Bookworm Adventures Fractured Fairy Tales Review

Lex, the fun loving green bookworm, is back. He is in Fairytale land fixing the disorder and fighting the villains who have captured some of his friends. Through spelling and training, Lex improves his fighting abilities and takes down the meanest of the mean in Fairytale land. You are going to be challenged by Old McDonald and the animals of his farm, the Big Bad wolf, the Cow that Jumped over the Moon, and many more as you fight to regain order in Fairytale land.

Spell Words to Fight Villains

Bookworm Adventure: Fractured Fairytale is a fun and engaging take on spelling. In this game you spell words from the 16 letters provided to battle the villains of Fairytale land. Through a quick tutorial you learn the rules of the game and the best strategies for fighting. Longer and more difficult words do more damage to your enemy. Also, as you advance you receive upgrades that boost your ability to damage your opponent, or prevent you from incurring damage. One such upgrade increases the damage you cause when spelling adjectives. The story mode of this game and the objective of having to save your friends make this a great game.

We Do Admit it is a Unique Type of Word Game

The adventure aspect improves this game immensely and separates it from other games in the word genre. Unlike most games that have you build words with adjacent letters for points, this game has you construct words to take-down enemies. You have 16 letters at your disposal and you can connect any of the letters to create words. The longer the words you create the greater damage they cause. As you start beating bosses your abilities increase and you advance to other fairytales, fighting along the way. After certain levels you can earn chances to compete in mini-games which provide you with additional boosts and upgrades.

Playing With a Friend Would Be Nice But Not Possible

Playing this game is a great way to have fun while improving your vocabulary. It does most things right and is a unique spelling/fighting game. Despite all the game's positives there is still room for small improvements. It would be nice to have the option of a multiplayer mode in this game. Maybe you could battle friends through spelling either online or through a LAN. This would make the battles even more competitive.

Another flaw with the game is with its difficulty. There is only one difficulty setting in the game. This could make the game too hard for a lot of younger spellers, and much too easy for spellers with more experience. Multiple difficulties and a multiplayer mode would make this game far more accessible to a wider range of people.

Conclusion - Fun and Original Spin That Livens Up the Word Game Genre

Overall, Bookworm Adventure: Fractured Fairytale does a lot of things right. This is a fun spelling game that has you battling the worst villains in fairytale history. Take down the Big Bad Wolf and the Giant from Jack and the Bean Stalk in this spelling quest. Though the game lacks a multiplayer, its options are more than sufficient enough to have a great time. This is highly recommended for all ages especially those learning to read and spell. Give this fun Fairytale adventure a try.
