The campaign differs from the linear style of storytelling that previous games in the series followed. Instead, the seven races hold certain areas of the plant Kronus and they take turns assaulting adjacent territories on the planet map. The ultimate goal is to eliminate all the other factions, which is done by conquering their heavily fortified home territories. This is no easy feat so you may want to conquer their other regions and complete mission objectives to gain strategic bonuses, such as extra starting resources, a higher population cap, or a pre-built base at the start of a mission.

Strategic, Intense Battles

The epic battles in Dark Crusade will push your strategic thinking to its limit. Capture strategic points to gain resources and fortify your base against the hordes of enemies that will attack you. Use the high ground to bombard your enemies and keep an eye out for stealth infiltrator units.

In addition to your usual forces, you have at your command a powerful commander who can turn the tide of many battles. He is the only persistent unit you have and he can be upgraded as he reaches certain benchmarks, like racking up 5,000 kills, eliminating opponents from the planet, or successfully defending territories.
