Help Nicole Find Her Father!

It is up to you to help journalist Nicole Rankwist after she receives a strange note from her archaeologist father saying that he has discovered an artifact which has the power to change the course of humanity.

The only problem is that he has now gone missing, and it is up to Nicole to find pieces of the Crystal Portal and retrace the path her father took in order to save him.

Follow along as Nicole's journey takes her across the world to such exotic locations as Japan, the Swiss Alps, and the Mayan ruins of Guatemala.

Interesting Find-the-Hidden-Object Adventure

The Mystery of the Crystal Portal has many of the game elements of other hidden-object adventures, such as searching for normal objects (finding the usual random items like vases or buckets) and story items used to advance to further levels (a canister of gasoline to power a generator and light a new room to search). Yet, it adds in some new components to make things interesting.

The major gameplay twist is the introduction of container items which are special items that upon being found show a list of other objects you need to find and drag into the container. Once a container has been completed, it will move or disintegrate to reveal additional objects.

The game format helps quite a bit with this complex item list setup by having no time limit for the levels and adding in an unlimited hint system (you just have to wait for it to recharge).
