Enter a world of orcs, elves and dragons and experience a unique blend of turn-based strategy and collectible card gameplay. Join one of four magical races as they battle for control of a beautiful magical realm. Use more than 300 spells and 160 creatures to defeat your enemies and gain control of the land.
Intriguing Blend of Game Types
Etherlords is a successful mixture of a collectible card game experience and a turn-based strategy game. The CCG parts of the fighting are comparable to Magic: The Gathering. You build a deck to suit a particular strategy and use the spells and creatures within it to fight other players or computer characters.
This title differs from other CCGs in that the creatures and spells are given vividly animated 3D models. Creatures run, attack, bleed and even have idle animations while they wait for you to decide what you're going to do. Spells are brilliant yellow explosions, crackling sparks of lightning and green healing auras.
The turn-based strategy portions mainly involve managing your resources and certain puzzling missions. You'll move your heroes around to gather resources, capture buildings, visit spell shops and fight other monsters or heroes as you encounter them on the map.
Test Your Strategy
With either game type, you'll find your strategy skills pushed to the limit. Play through campaign mode or just play single missions or duel-style play if you aren't looking for a prolonged game session. Additionally, you can participate in Internet or LAN play with up to eight players.
