The Rise of a King, May 20, 2009
by Ben
I enjoyed this game. It does a good job of walking you through the different training and ideas behind the game before you even get started. You begin in the castle and must visit different people in preparation for the quests you will go on as a knight. The wizard can sell you potions and spells. The blacksmith has a wide variety of different shields, armor, and weapons to choose from. He will also show you the basics in fighting and how to use your special powers/mana.
If you have any questions during this time, there are guards on every level of the castle who are more than willing to help you out and answer any questions you may have. Once you have visited all of the specialty people in the castle, your last stop is the King. The king will give you your first mission of many and give you some useful advice to use along the way. Once you have completed your conversations with him, you can go into the forests and begin your first quest. I like that the objectives are easily brought to the screen with a hot key. Other useful actions are also accompanied with different hot keys. Once your quest is completed, you can return to the King to collect your pay and receive new orders.
Conclusion:
This is a fun game that I will be exploring more in the near future. Give it a try!
