Star Castle Game Summary
Here’s a cult arcade favorite from the 80’s: Star Castle! In this game you are trying to demolish the defenses of an enemy cannon located in the center of your screen. Watch out because there are mines and other obstacles awaiting to thwart you. And of course, the enemy cannon has a few things to say about you trying to destroy it. Have fun breaking down those barriers and save the day!
How to Play
Move your ship with the arrow keys and fire missiles with the spacebar.

The best stand alone arcade game ever. Truly old school, ranks with atari’s first pac man. Never had enough quarters before or after school. Classic, classic, classic

When I was a boy, this was my favorite arcade game of all time. I loved the vector graphics and I loved the game itself. You could play a long time for only a quarter. I couldn’t get enough of it.
There’s an old version, which is what this site has, and a “new” version, which was harder to play. In the old version, those sparks that fly off the rotating rings act as though the screen edges don’t wrap. When you fly off one side and pop in on the other, they stop and fly back across the screen to get you. In the “new” version, they just fly off the screen edge after you, making the game much harder—I could never escape them—and much less fun to play.
In the old version, the key to continued play, when the game’s sped up so much you can’t outrun the sparks, is to fly out one side—not the top or bottom, the sides—and, when you pop in on the other, fire at the rings and keep going until you hit the outermost ring and bounce. The bounce will pretty much reverse you, which is quicker than turning manually, and you then will be able to make it back out the side before the sparks get you. You could go back and forth like this for a long time, which, like I said above, made for a great deal of fun for only a quarter.

At first I thought this would be a pretty cool game by the asteroids look of it. But I do not understand fully how to advance in it. If you make sure to only shoot all but one piece of each shield, a new one will not be created. Even so, I am killed every time my the big “missiles” from the green ring. I do not know if you can even beat the thing or if it is just a high score contest. For now I am giving it two stars until I better understand the idea behind it.
Conclusion:
This one is not for me but let me know if you figure out the objective.
