From the golden age of arcade games, here come the Asteroids! Enjoy revisiting this classic with all the vector graphics and sound effects reminiscent of the original. The object of “Asteroids” is basically to shoot and destroy anything and everything coming at you, scoring a lot of points in the process. Keep a watch out for the UFOs – they’re worth 1,000 points each.
Control your ship with the arrow keys and use the spacebar to shoot.

I have loved the simplicity and adrenaline rush of this game for many years. I was going to buy an Nintendo JUST so I could buy a retro game cartridge and spend my slow evenings blowing EVERYTHING up. I searched and searched for Astroids—now I don’t need to look further, or spend $200 on a gaming device just for one game. This Rocks my world—heh, heh!

I really enjoyed revisiting this great old game. I bought a stand up Asteroids machine back in the early eighties. I have great memories of that game and the fun my pals and I had playing it. Playing your version brought back all the memories and the “feel good” of a bygone era. I liked how your version played much like the original. But the best part of your version is that it’s free! I’d like to thank you for putting asteroids back on line. Now I can see a whole new generation of gamers enjoying this retro classic.

Best video game ever! I remember waiting in line at 7/11 to play the first and only time I turned the machine. It was sooo cool then! This is just like the OG. More instructions would’ve helped.

It was great being able to find the Asteroids game free, which I have missed so much!
The only problem is that there are not complete instructions on how to play the game, i.e., use the shift key to move the ship, etc. After so long a time w/o playing, it took me awhile to remember which keys did what. So a more complete list of instructions would have made this perfect!

It’s like stepping back to the 80’s when there was a line of quarters on the console establishing who had next! The only way this could be more accurate is if it came with a joystick!

This is the game back in the 80s you had to stand in line and had to wait to play. Now you can play it any time you want and there is no line to stand in AWESOME

This is one of the first video games I played that I could say I was actually good at. This version is just as good as the original game at the arcades. Always fun to play.

ahhhh, the memories of skipping classes to play!, Sep 30, 2009

Best video game ever made - if you are still living in the 80’s! Seriously, this game is exactly as I remember it. Used to have 20-30 lives lined up, played for a couple of hours and sell the game to a bystander for a couple of bucks - if you didn’t know how to “cruise” you would never succeed.
