The Baumeister Confection company grew from humble beginning to a household name known around the world, but with the double blow of the Great Depression and World War II the firm has fallen on hard times. Add to the fact that Alex, the current owner, is determined to set off and find her missing husband after he failed to return home from the war, and for the first time in history the Baumeister's will have to entrust the future of their business to an outsider.
That is where you step in as the new candidate for the CEO position in Baumeister Confections. Take the reins in the post-WWII economic boom and travel the world in search of new recipes, buy ingredients, and sell your creations to markets. See such locales as Zurich, Capetown, Tokyo, Belize, and Hawaii as you peddle your delicious wares.
The main gameplay found in Chocolatier - Decadence by Design involves traveling around the world to different locations to find the best deals on ingredients and to get the best price for your chocolaty merchandise. In many cases you'll be given tasks which will have you produce a particular amount of some treat and bring those cases to a certain character in order to receive big profits.
While making chocolates usually requires cocoa beans and sugar, there is a whole variety of other ingredients which you'll need to bring to the factory in order to make more complex creations, which will net even greater profits. At the factory, once you have chosen a recipe there is an arcade-like mini-game to set the production rate for that chocolate product. You will have to aim and shoot with your mouse to toss ingredients into rotating machines with a number of open slots that must be filled to match the recipes. The more shots you make in succession the faster the machines will rotate, while if you miss they will slow down drastically.
In addition to the set recipes which you can collect through your travels, there is a secret Baumeister facility where you can create your very own chocolate recipes. In order to impress the Board Members and actually become the new CEO, you'll have to show your creative side and be able to market your new creations to customers.
Expand your business into new areas and practice your haggling skills in order to bring this failing company back in order. See if you have what it takes to run the world's grandest chocolate creators.

Chocolatier:Eat The Game, Jun 03, 2011
by Lufti
Basically,Chocolatier is only a basic selling-buying game, a little familiar like Tradewinds, yet it is more worldwide and focusing on trades. Even though it only equip basic graphics,it have a good concept of mixing up adventure with strategy, creating a game that can motivate your brain (and your tastebuds).
This game is educative and it can widen up your knowledge on the subject of chocolate. It is also fun,on one side, for all generations, young and old since it gives off that Victorian-age feeling and it is quite simple to master if you follow the clues. It have a punchy storyline and interesting characters that spice up this game.
Overall, I think it worth the price for the full version. After all, it is the most delicious game I have ever played since it encourage your brain and tastebuds to find out more about chocolate.
Compared to the usual tycoon games like fish tycoon,or build a lot, this game is quite easy since they value chocolate so much there. Chocolatier’s graphics are basic, yet they are unique. I suggest Chocolatier on keeping it since that is one of th thing that makes them a -one-in-a-million game!

Chocolatier 3, Jan 12, 2010

Chocolatier 3 did not fail to impress me. I hit the jackpot when I discovered the choclatier series and have been addicted ever since. Chocolatier 3 is the best of the three games and definitely has a better and longer plot line than the other two games. It’s the kind of game you just can’t quit and it’s an awesome game to play and make recipes on. Enjoy it - I did!

A Great Addition to the Chocolatier Games!, Aug 29, 2009

This new Chocolatier game is just as fun as the previous two games. I remember reading many discussions on what time period the new game was going to take place and I was happily surprised that they chose the post WWII era. You can customize your chocolates and the new locations are awesome. The graphics in each keep getting better and better. The only thing I could complain about is that some of the text is difficult to read because of the font they chose, but I got used to it over time. Again, this is a really great game and you’ll love it if you love the previous two Chocolatier games. This game is great for adults and older kids.
