In Bookworm Deluxe, it's up to you to click on adjacent letters in order to form words that can be "chomped" by the Lex the bookworm. But, If you use too many small words, burning tiles will appear and you must clear them before they hit bottom or the whole library burns down and your game is over.
This game is educational for the young and young and heart. Form words you never even knew existed and learn the spelling and definitions of rarely heard English words.
The longer the words, or more obscure the letters used in the words, the more points for you.
In this "can't-turn-it-off" game, your brain goes into overdrive. It takes focus to see words upside-down, backwards, sideways, diagonal and any combination in between.
It's hard to stop playing once you start, but if you have to the game will save your progress automatically and you can return to your game with ease.
There is the Classic Game, which provides a more relaxing gaming experience and also the Action Game option. In Action Game mode, burning tiles are dropped into the grid at an alarming pace and will burn through letters without any warning.
Lex the Bookworm will make green tiles appear randomly. Using these tiles increases your word score.
If you make words using 5 or more letters, you earn a gold tile. Use the gold tile and multiply your bonus points even more.
You can earn ranks and titles such as clerk, scribe, librarian and editor. The Hall of Fame feature will record your Top Scores, Best Words and Longest Words.
Play against or with friends or family over and over again in Bookworm Deluxe. It's fun and easy, but can also be challenging.
Enjoy Scrabble, Boggle and crossword puzzles? Bookworm Deluxe is the perfect way to improve your spelling and vocabulary and have a good time doing it.

It’s a beautifully designed game. This game really enhances your vocabulary and provides entertainment to all. Not only kids but adults too enjoy this game. I felt that this game can be further modified by adding more animations and funny features so as to make it more captivating and enjoyable for kids. But on the overall I personally feel that this game is really fun-filled, enjoyable and informative. Kids can really learn and play simultaneously. So I advise you to download it. Enjoy!!!!! :)

One of those games with full educational learning objective. This is not run of the mill gory fights or jumping jacks with no meaning but fun and learning. Bookworm also checks on the vocab you’ve developed especially of the five or more letter words which are not very easy to remember. The burning tiles are a challenge to recall the word.Good Fun & Learning!

Such fun we have had playing this game. It really triggers some great words long forgotten. As seniors who love the daily crosswords, we have found a much more stimulating way to keep mentally active and have fun together as well as compete with family. Will make great xmas gifts.

This game never gets old. I have been playing it for a few years now. I was at my dads and he was playing it. I forgot how fun it was so I had to get it back on my new computer.

This game is my new way to pass time while helping my vocabulary skills improve. My son is 4 and he plays as well as me. He has passed every spelling test at his school thanks to bookworm and his parents helped a little bit as well. I have told his teacher they should let all the kids play this game on the school computers, she checked the game out and 2 days later she bought the game for 14 computers. She said that all the kids test scores improved by an average of 2 letter grades. Thanks again.
