Simple Town Building Game, Dec 18, 2011

This game is sort of along the lines of “Majesty” although the graphics and combat are much simpler and the economics are more complicated.

The game is very very fast-paced, and no sooner do you get a village built, then you have to leave it behind and go build a new one.  You don’t really get to spend time watching and molding and shaping your town and fine-tuning it.

Most of the scenarios are a bit unrealistic and do not focus on sustainability.  Like you might be asked to build five high maintenance cost buildings to beat a level.  Who cares that the economy of this village cannot sustain the costs of upkeep on these buildings over the long term?  You just leave and go on to the next village without having the chance to fix the economy so that it can support these nice buildings.

Not a bad game, but I had completed about 25% of it in my first hour of play.
