I've been having a blast playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer.  Here are a few thoughts and resources for you.

If you haven't played Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 yet, you should

In spite of all the complaining about no central servers to play on and peer to peer instead, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has been a blast.  In fact, I've barely played the single player game.

Here is what I like about it so far:

1. Fast and smooth gameplay (unless you get on a bad host)
2. Great weapons to unlock and all customizeable with different attachments (I go for the heartbeat sensor and holographic sights - extra clips will be nice when I unlock them)
3. Fairly good team balancing.  I haven't had too many lopsided games.
4. Maps are mostly very good and diverse.  The city maps are tough and take some time to get used to (i.e. Favela, Karachi)
5. Good balance for snipers, close in fighters, and mid range players
6. Excellent kill streak rewards like calling in attack choppers and even a tactical nuke for those getting 25 kills in a row w/o dying! (unfortunately it does kill everyone and end the match...)
7. Interesting akimbo weapons, use a weapon in each hand

The game can be tough for new players to learn so if you didn't play the first Modern Warfare, it might be tough.  However here are some resources that might help:

1. Weapons List - see what is available and when you can unlock it
2. Perks - all the perks and which slot they take up
3. Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Tips - strategies including HQ capture and defense, strategies
4. Prestige Icons - For those who want to trade in their hard work for cooler icons

So if you don't have the game yet, ask for it for Christmas and the come and join the fun!
