UPDATE: September 9, 2009 - Google Safe Browsing technology in Firefox and Google Chrome browsers is no longer blocking Trymedia downloads. The initial warning page looks to have been a "false positive", meaning the Trymedia downloads were being incorrectly associated with harmful software. The problem has been rectified by Google and the warning page no longer comes up before downloading.

Firefox version 3 users are experiencing a warning message when trying to download some of our Trymedia (owned by Real Networks) games.

With its host of brain-bending puzzles and time warping, Braid is no ordinary platform game!
You're off to save the Princess and fix your mistakes by solving puzzles. What's awesome is that you can't die because if you make a wrong move or an enemy beats you, just hold down the Shift key and travel back in time as far as you want to in that level. Another great aspect is that you aren't forced to solve the puzzles as they come; you can move on and come back to them later.

Defense Grid is a science fiction tower defense game with awesome graphics and a nice variety of towers and alien enemies. It's great because it involves strategy: there are only a few places you can build towers, so you have to exploit the best locations and balance building new towers with upgrading old ones.

Hi Everyone,
Occassionally we get an email or comment from our users wanting clarification on what is free on our site and what is not.
Since I launched the site in 2002, I was aware of the possibility that users could feel cheated by seeing our site name "Download Free Games" but then going to a game page and only finding a free trial.
To avoid this, I always had freeware games (totally free games with no trials or other limitations) available on the site.
To help people feel that we truly live up to the name of our site, we increased our freeware total to 101 games last year. We also added over 200 free online games which also have no trial limitations. On the shareware (free to try games) pages, we also try to make it clear there is a free trial available and how much time you get for free.
But in an effort to make it easier to understand the types of games we offer at DFG, we launched the following improvements today:

Here is what we launched last month.
